These unexpected patterns included (1) A family in which T0 transgenes and mutations were not transmitted to progeny; (2) A family with four unlinked transgene insertions, including two respectively located at paralogous CRISPR target break sites; (3) A family in which mutations were observed and transmitted, but without evidence of transgene integration nor transmission. CONCLUSIONS Genome resequencing provides high-resolution of transgene integration structures and gene editing events. Segregation patterns of these events can be complicated by several potential mechanisms. This includes, but is not limited to, plant chimeras, multiple unlinked transgene integrations, editing of intended and paralogous targets, linkage between the transgene integration and target site, and transient expression of the editing reagents without transgene integration into the host genome.BACKGROUND Primary objective of this review was to measure compliance with spectacle use in children with refractive errors. Secondary objective was to understand the reasons for non-compliance. METHODS The databases searched were Ovid, EMBASE, CINAHL and Pubmed. All studies up to March, 2018 were included. Two researchers independently searched the databases and initial screening obtained 33 articles. The PRISMA guidelines were followed for conducting and writing the systematic review. Two reviewers assessed data quality independently using the Quality Assessment tool for systematic reviews of observational studies (QATSO). Poor quality studies were those, which had a score of less than 33% on the QATSO tool. Sensitivity analysis was done to determine if poor quality studies effected compliance. Galbraith plot was used to investigate statistical heterogeneity amongst studies. A random effects model was used to pool compliance. RESULTS Twenty-three studies were included in the review, of which 20 were included in the quantitative analysis. All the studies were cross sectional. The overall compliance with spectacle use was 40.14% (95% CI- 32.78-47.50). The compliance varied from 9.84% (95% CI?=?2.36-17.31) to 78.57% (95% CI?=?68.96-88.18). The compliance derived in sensitivity analysis was 40.09%. Reasons for non-compliance were broken/lost spectacles, forgetfulness, and parental disapproval. CONCLUSION Appropriate remedial measures such as health education and strengthening vision care services will be required to address poor compliance with spectacle use among children.BACKGROUND Many studies focused on health inequality between migrant older adults and local older adults, while few study concerned the health inequalities between urban-to-urban and rural-to-urban migrant older adults. This study aimed to compare physical health and mental health between these two groups in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, and to explore the relationship between cognitive social capital, social integration and health among migrant older adults. METHODS A two-stage stratified sampling method was employed to recruit participants from May to August 2013 in Hangzhou. Measurement data were compared with student's t-tests and multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA). Multiple linear regression was adopted in this study. RESULTS A total of 1000 of participants who met the inclusion criteria were analyzed, consisting of 527 (52.7%) urban-to-urban and 473 (47.3%) rural-to-urban migrant older adults. However, it is not approved for mucosal application in Japan. The aims of this study were to investigate if topical povidone iodine (i) inhibits bacterial growth and (ii) disrupts the balance of the oral microbiota. METHODS This randomized controlled clinical trial included 23 patients who underwent mechanical ventilation in the intensive care unit. The patients were divided randomly into two groups the intervention group (n?=?16) and the control group (n?=?7). All patients received oral cleaning with 3% hydrogen peroxide, followed by irrigation with tap water. The patients in the intervention group received 10% povidone iodine applied topically to the oral cavity. The concentration of total bacteria in the oropharyngeal fluid were determined before, immediately after, 1?h, 2?h, and 3?h after oral care using the Rapid Oral Bacteria Quantification System, which ingeal fluid of patients on mechanical ventilation while not disrupting the balance of the oral microbiota. METHODS Twenty patients with CMO secondary to CRVO were included in this prospective cohort study. After 3 loading 4-weekly injections, treatment intervals were increased by 2?weeks if there was no clinical activity, to a maximum of 12?weeks. If clinical activity recurred or persisted, the interval between injections was shortened by 2?weeks, to a minimum of 4?weeks. Main outcome measures were change in visual acuity and the proportion of patients gaining 15 or more Early Treatment of Diabetic Retinopathy Study (ETDRS) letters from baseline at 6, 12 and 18?months. RESULTS Mean BCVA gain from baseline was 19.7?±?13.8, 22.2?±?13.9 and 21.9?±?15.8 ETDRS letters at 6, 12 and 18?months, respectively. Sixty-five percent of patients gained 15 or more ETDRS letters at 6?months, increasing to 70.6% at 12 and 18?months. Patients received 5.0 [4.
